Multiagent Simulation of the Hepatitis B Epidemic Process

Abstract

This abstract describes multiagent model of the hepatitis B epidemic process. All parameters, expressed in the model were estimated using sero-surveys data and data of epidemiological surveillance of Kharkiv region sanitary-epidemiological station. The simulation results allow predicting of the dynamics of the epidemic process in time in a particular area, taking into account specific epidemic situation; and testing the effectiveness of various preventive measures. Using the present model in the practice of Public Health suggests improving of the epidemiological diagnostics of HBV infection and improvement of the quality of management decisions about epidemiological surveillance.

Tetyana Chumachenko, Epidemiology Department, Kharkiv National Medical University

Chumachenko Tetyana, MD, Dr.Sc., Prof. is Head of the Epidemiology Department of the Kharkiv National Medical University (Ukraine). She graduated from Kiev medical institute, specialization on hygiene, sanitary and epidemiology. Professor Chumacenko is author of more than 200 publications on the topic of studying of characteristics of epidemic process of communicable disease and the development surveillance systems in Ukraine.

Dmytro Chumachenko, National Aerospace University 'Kharkiv Aviation Institute'

Chumachenko Dmytro, Master of Informatics, Master of Project Management, PhD-student of Informatics Department of the National Aerospace University 'Kharkiv Aviation Institute.' He is author of more than 21 publications. Spheres of his scientific researches are social and economics computer simulation, neural networks and fuzzy logic.
