Author Biography

Margaret Dimitrova

Margaret Dimitrova received her PhD in medieval studies from the Central European University, Budapest, in 1998, with a dissertation on Greek and Latin loanwords in Croatian Glagolitic writings. Her research is on biblical translations from Greek in medieval Slavonic manuscripts, on texts for newborn and mothers in Greek and Slavonic sources, on 19th-century manuscripts written with Greek letters, and on Bulgarian -- Greek language contacts. She is an Assosiate Professor at the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and teaches courses in history of the Bulgarian language, medieval manuscripts and Christian culture among the South Slavs, and everyday life of medieval women on the Balkans.
