Jonathan Purday, Europeana, The Hague, Netherlands

Purday.jpg Jon Purday is Senior Communications Advisor for Europeana, and has been managing the project?s communications and marketing activities since 2007. He is currently on secondment from the British Library, where he was Head of Corporate Communications from 2000, implementing award-winning campaigns around public value and digital access. Previous roles include strategic marketing for the bibliographic, photographic and publishing departments and communications for the Library?s digital initiatives in the 1990s. He began his career as the first Curator of Recorded Literature at the National Sound Archive, and has also worked in events management and online communications for financial services. He read English at the University of Sussex, and did postgraduate studies in marketing at Manchester Business School. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Marketing and has taught communications on their professional development programme.
