Abstract

Have traditional mass media models influenced the development of the Internet? This paper examines several ways in which the Internet and the World Wide Web have been described in terms of historical media, and how the Internet and the Web differ remarkably from these models. Thinking in the terms of traditional media - has created misinterpretations of the Web, built from conventions of past media.
